Not only the number of blades per head is growing...

no - since the Pace 7 started in the U.S. market, worldwide the news become aware of the Dorco Pace 7 razor.

I can`t read all news like the ones at The Wall Street Journal or at The Australian , they are only available while paying for reading.

The Telegraph in the UK is for free, press release on www.streetinsider.com says availabe on amazon soon (hopefully with international shipping)

Remember, the Pace 7 has been launched in October 2014 in South Korea, since then my blog counts
2.500 views total before October 2015, after the launch in the U.S. the number of daily views exceeds the old monthly rate ( and all without advertising this blog ;-))

So thanks to everybody who visited the blog before (even from Indonesia or India) or will come in future

The Global Dorco Facebook page was ment to inform global but now focus on the U.K. and the U.K. webstore  they still stuck at the Pace 6+ even when the new Pace 7 is part of the header picture ;-)

That is one of  the things irritating me, so if someone of the Korea HQ will hit this blog: become more offensive with your brand and push the newest technology to every market. 1 year to become the world aware of a 7 Blade razor is not the fast way. Your competitor made his new razor known even before it was avavilable anywhere.

I would like to buy the razor or gift sets in my local market, not via ebay, gmarket or shopping services worldwide.

A short overview about the new Pace 7 Power from Dorco

Modern and slim design, dark soft feel rubber for perfect grip, power button with blue LED, trim lines in chrome finish - no comparison to the first Pace Power.
The Pace7 Power has a nice balance, with the almost square profile you directly find the perfect shaving position in your hand

The new Pace power comes with 1  7-bladed cartridge, the power cartridges comes in a new color, can`t see any other difference. Still with 7 sharp edges, the new honey-hole bar, the battery compartment has to be twisted to be opened or closed, the full rubberized handle feels real grippy and you won`t believe how ergonomic a square handle can be while you havn`t had the new Pace Power in your hands.
Much better than the old Pace Power or the other big twos power razors.

Weight of the razor is 48g fully loaded with one AAA, there is one level of vibration, not to hard or noisy, 

Sad that there is no case or stand included like it has been with the old Pace Power, but the same happened to the Pace7.

So this is only  a short overview and a razing rview will follow later.

Dorco did it again - a battery powered Pace, the Pace Power

Dorco now offers the Dorco Pace 7 as battery powered model

So at the 60th anniversary of Dorco this year they top the line with the "new Pace Power" with the new 7 blades cartridge.

Sorry can`t review that model until now, order is placed, waiting for shipment ;-)
I hope to get the new Pace power within the next 10 days.

Why "Dorco did it again" and "new Pace Power"
In 2013 while I was searching for a way to get the Pace6+ to germany, I found a campaign picture of the
Pace 6 family with a Pace Power(6) included.
Found nowhere in the whole internet  further information about that razor, asked Dorco in march 2014 for the razor and they told me the razor has only been provided to Korea in small quantities.

2007 Dorco introduced the Pace 6 and the battery of the following razor was good until 02/2012, I found a small press release o.a. from 2010 about the PacePower6.
So the original Pace Pawer should have been sold between 2010 and 2012?

Powered by an AAA battery cell the weight is 42g (33g without battery)

Haven`t tried the PacePower6 until now, this unboxing was only for making pictures.







Not the only battery powered model from Dorco, in China or Eastern Europe there is a 3 bladed model the XPEC3 power,

Short review of the Pace7 Gift-Set

So while there are no news about the Pace7 or when it becomes available to the rest of the world I placed an order at gmarket ;-)

Here is the Pace7 Gift Set with the dark brush

The set comes with a total of 7 cartridges (1 at the razor and 6 spare cartridges), a Pace7 shaving gel (210 ml) the razor handle and a shaving brush.

The brush is really soft and should be synthetic fibre, 117 mm height, 46g, knot 23 mm, wooden handle

(솔 is translated with brush and on the box decribed as "nylon")

Not much to tell about the shaving gel yet, according to ebay describtions it comes with shea butter,should moisten the skin and avoid skin irritations after shaving. I`ll try the gel later this month.

The set itself was USD 19,50, shipping via EMS USD 15,40 to Germany. Gmarket didn`t charged me extra shipping but that maybe could happen. Estimated weight is 0.4 kg, the box real is 0.6kg and with the gmarket repacking around 1kg. So calculate shipping with 1kg to be on the safe side.

German customs charged me an additional 19% so I got a total of EUR 39,- for the whole set shipped within 5 days. Fine for me with the total of 7 cartridges, the brush and the shaving gel. A set with bowl and stand for razor and brush would be ultimate but I havn`t found one yet.

Dorco gave the razor away at the Grammy Gift Lounge, sorry I got no information when exactly to buy or where else on the world. The Pace6+ (XL) was launched in 2010 and it took 4 years to get it in German stores. There is an  israeli website , maybe a distributor?  (Yes, it is the Israeli distributor ;-))

If you are able to shop in Korea, there is a bundle at an korean onlineshop with the Pace7, a brush,  5 extra cartridges and shaving gel for around 25900 Won (app. 26 USD)

Did you really need 3, 4,5,6 or 7 cutting edges at once?

 - No, I´ve been fine with one edge for more than 30 years using DE-razors, but I like the comfort and the clean shave with one stroke.
The reasons why I prefer the Dorco razors are the harder swing hinge, it gives me a better feel of control, the cutting edges are made seamless, not a welded cutting blade where hair and foam will clog and the price is fair for the razors while the blades last very long for me.
